Can I carry just 1 bike on the carrier?
Yes you can, we recommend you carry your eBike/bike on the inside wheel cradles.
I have a Class I, 1-1/4” hitch. Can I use your eBike/bike carrier for my 90# bike?
Yes, just check the box to replace the 2” receiver with a 1-1/4” receiver. There is a nominal material and labor charge. 150 pounds is the recommended load limit for 1 1/4″ hitches unless the towing vehicle has an adequate tongue weight rating. The MoTow Ebike Carrier is rated for 200 pounds regardless of the receiver size.
Does the eBike Carrier tilt down?
Yes the base unit tilts down or up. While not in use the 2 bike support arms are easily removed for storage. If bikes are loaded it would take 2 people to tilt it down—1 to hold the bikes and the 2nd to remove the pin. The Hitch Lift tilts down by removing the hitch pin.
How high off the ground do I have to lift my bike wheel to put it on the wheel cradle?
About 36” if your hitch height is 15”.
My bikes’ wheelbase is more than 49”, can I get a carrier to fit it?
Yes, we carry XL support arms for 50+” wheelbases. Larger supports are available by special order.
I can get the front wheel on the tire cradle, but am having trouble with the rear wheel because of an attached rack.
You can pull eBike/bike towards you when hooking rear wheel, rocking on front wheel to insert cradle before or after a rack frame, or pin bike support arms on different holes (eg, left arm bottom hole, right arm top hole for a 45″ wheelbase) to clear a rack frame.
